Q: Can I pay for my trailer registration online?
Yes, just fill out our online trailer registration request, attach the required documents, and you can pay with your credit card online.
As long as we have everything we need there is no need to call us.
Q: Can I register a homemade trailer in Maine?
A: Yes — if it has already been registered before, we will need a copy of the Title or a VIN inspection form (MVT-10) with a state issued VIN #.
If it has not been registered we will need the following:
- Date built
- Length, width and height of trailer
- Serial number (Please call for instructions)
- Weight of trailer
- Make
- Copy of the Title or a VIN inspection form (MVT-10) with a state issued VIN #.

Q: Does a trailer need to be inspected to get a registration in Maine?
A: Maine does not require the trailer to be inspected to be registered.
Q: Is it legal to register in Maine if I live in another State?
A: The majority of our customers do live in other states, non-residents and businesses can register in Maine. As long as you travel interstate you can register in Maine.
Q: How long does the registration process take?
A: It is possible to get a plate the following business day using our “RUSH” service.
Q: Is there any set up costs or hidden charges?
A: No, the only additional charge is for the POA (Power of Attorney) that is needed to process the work for you. The cost for the POA is a one-time charge of $20.00
Q: Any minimum or maximum number of trailers needed to use this service?
A: No, we offer our service to owner operators that register one trailer and we work with larger companies that register thousands of trailers.
Q: Do I need a title to register in Maine?
A: All trailers that are less than 3000lbs are title exempt in the State
Trailers that are 26 Years and older are title exempt in the State of Maine.
If your trailer is already titled in another state we will need a copy of the front and back of your current title.
Q: Can I title my trailer in the State of Maine?
A: A Semitrailer no more than 25 years old with an unladen weight in excess of 3000lbs that is used for interstate or intrastate transportation may be titled in the State of Maine.

Q: When do Maine Trailer Registrations Expire?
A: All trailers registered in the State of Maine expire on the last day of February of the expiration year.
Example: I register a trailer for five years in May 2024, the trailer registration will expire on February 28, 2029.
